Most of the repair calls we get are the climate's fault. Monsoon season runs roughly late June through September, and it's not just the rain that gets roofs. It's the wind out ahead of the storm lifting tile and shingle, the dust that packs into valleys and scuppers, and then an inch of rain landing all at once on a roof that's been baked dry for nine months.
The rest of the year is the slow damage. A roof surface here can run well over 140 degrees on a summer afternoon and then drop 50 degrees or more overnight, day after day. That constant expansion and contraction cracks sealant, dries out pipe boots, opens up flashing at walls and chimneys, and turns old underlayment brittle. By the time a stain shows on the ceiling, the underlayment has usually been letting water through for a while.

If a storm or hail did it, a lot of the time it is. We photograph and document everything while we're up there so you've got what you need to back up the claim.
Should I repair or replace my roof?
Comes down to how old the roof is and how much of it's going. We'll get up there, take a look, and give it to you straight. If a repair's the smart move, that's what we'll quote you, not a whole new roof you don't need yet.
How do I know if the stain on my ceiling is a roof leak?
Not every ceiling stain is the roof. In Tucson a lot of them turn out to be an AC condensate line in the attic, a swamp cooler line, or a plumbing vent. Part of our free inspection is ruling those out, so you don't pay for a roof repair you didn't need.
Can you repair a tile roof without replacing the whole thing?
Most of the time, yes. We swap the broken or slipped tile, replace the underlayment in that spot, and set the tile back. If the underlayment is shot across the whole roof, a spot repair just moves the leak, and we'll tell you that instead of selling you a fix that won't hold.
What should I do while I wait for a roof repair?
Move anything that can get wet, put a bucket under the drip, and if the ceiling is bulging with water, poke a small hole at the low point so it drains instead of bringing the drywall down all at once. Stay off the roof, especially wet tile. If water's coming in right now, call us and we'll get a tarp on it.
